ShopAddikt's 2014 NYE Tips

Are you ready to ring in 2014?! Make sure you sparkle while the ball drops on NYE with these ShopAddikt's tips for welcoming 2014!

1. Bring on the bling.

Somewhere on that gorgeous figure you should sparkle like that New Year's ball dropping. Hottest trends this year include sequin mini skirts and bedazzled bodycon dresses. Accessories can add sparkle as well, look for a sequin clutch or charming waterfall earrings to make a statement. Looking for something more subtle? Try a glitter manicure or eyeliner to add just the right amount of glitter to match your personal taste.

2. Lip service.

We all know that big kiss is bound to happen between couples, friends, and strangers alike. Make sure your lips are ready to pucker with a long lasting lip shade, after all no one wants to go home from the big party looking like they made out with a circus clown. Our pics for the best long-lasting lipsticks are...
Max Factor Lipfinity-  This two part duo is made up of a long-wear stain and topcoat. Tip: You will want to purchase some baby oil to take this off at the end of the night and don't forget to take the top coat with you to reapply when your lips are in need of moisturizing.

Stila Long Wear Lip Color- This will need a reapplication once or twice throughout the night, but the color is long lasting verses conventional lipstick and it offers more of a lip balm quality that will keep your lips soft.

Christian Dior Rouge Dior Replenishing Lipcolor- This lipstick stands as the only traditional choice that offers a slight color stain and moisturizing properties. Top quality ingredients will leave your lips supple and ready for impact.

3. Keep it classy.

We all know the champagne flows when we ring in the New Year, but no one wants to be "that girl" at the office party or public event that can't keep her voice down or her eyes open. Balance your celebration juice with equal parts water and pace yourself. NYE parties can last hours, there is no point in passing out before the ball drops.

In work settings make sure you maintain the same persona you bring with you to the office. Remember you will have to see these people when you go into the office on Monday. No one wants to execute the walk of shame in the workplace.

If you are planning a private party be sure to invite neighbors and make it clear whether guests are welcome to bring children or not. Let's face it, it's hard to hold your class of bubbly with a two year old wrapped around your legs.

If your plans take you out on the town to a public event, just be sure you have a ride home and a partner-in-crime. In case the creepy dude by the bar won't stop looking your way, it's good to have a friend who will step in his line of sight.

Style Spotlight: Kayti Graham blogger of "Northwest Suburban Cowgirl"

Founder Kayti of Northwest Suburban Cowgirl

SA:Tell us what your favorite part of being a lifestyle blogger is?

I started NW Suburban Cowgirl as a place to get all of my thoughts and ideas down on “paper," having them all in one place where I could share with family and friends. Then, after getting started, the blog took on a life of its own. Life events and struggles with starting a family were stories that I wanted to share with others. That is the best part about writing a lifestyle blog. Nothing is off limits. There is something for every reader on my blog and that was really important to me as a writer.

SA: Shop AddiKt's are always wanting to know what other Shop AddiKt's favorite current trends are. What is one you are following this season?

This season has been so much fun for me because I
am trying all types of new trends. Right now, I am obsessed with embellishments! Anything from a collar necklace over a sweater to a fancy infinity scarf. Because I am expecting and my body is constantly changing, I have to add new accessories to basic clothing items in order to save my budget. I have also always loved shoes! Pair a cute pair of booties with black tights and a dress to create a great holiday outfit!

SA: Who are your favorite designers?

I love Michael Kors and Tory Burch. My everyday go-to's are J Crew and JBrand Jeans!

SA: JBrand jeans are some of our favorites too! What is on your Christmas wish-list fashion wise?
Handbags and shoes! But isn’t that always on everyone’s wish list? Classic items that never go out of style! Also, a fun, dressier coat. Maybe something cropped and belted… I could go on and on!

SA: Yes! We agree handbags and shoes are always on top of our wish lists here at Shop AddiKt! We want to know....do you have any New Year resolutions?

My New Year resolutions have greatly changed this year from other years. In year’s past, it was always lose weight, eat healthier, save more money etc. etc. This year I am making the resolution to spend more time with my husband and less time at work. Also, to try and dress up more and get out of the house! I have become such a homebody that I forget to experience other things going on. Also, to travel more and be a good mom to
     our baby coming in May!

Beach Party Ready

1456

Wow, editing these photos made me miss La Union even more. I can still vividly remember the beach and the fun times I had with friends… AAHHH!!! Okay, enough reminiscing. I think this Sesa dress is the best dress you can wear if you’re attending a beach party that doesn’t require swimming or a music festival. The color combination makes it seem like it’s really meant for the beach- it’s just so nice to look at. I love the bohemian vibe of the dress and the cutouts really help so you wouldn’t feel hot most of the time. I matched it with this pair of flats from Bella Schu because I wanted to make the look nicer. I’m seriously getting addicted to sandals now. I find this one so sexy on my feet and the studs are definitely stunning. People usually have a hard time not knowing what pair of sandals (aside from flip flops) to bring on the beach-  and I’m telling you, this one’s perfect! It’s easy to remove and wear again. I still like my feet glammed up when I have beach parties, flip flops are only if you’re swimming. The black and gold details really made it look classy. BMS.
