Guest Blogger: Airie from Fashion To Live- Spring Fling

Hi loves! It was so hot today and I did not even plan this outfit according to the weather. I was in a great mood today and I needed to run some errands. I bought a bunch of super cute crop tops from
Macy's last weekend and I just really felt like wearing yellow. The crop top style is reminiscent of the 50's beach style where women wore the high waste bikini briefs and bikini crop tops. Something about it just calls my name.

Don't let your fashion freeze over

Happy Saturday, fashionistas! As temperatures drop and we dare to brave the frigid elements, let's face it, you have to bundle up — but what you don't have to do is sacrifice style. It's all about layering. Opt for chunky pieces to keep your trunk toasty. Take the 360 Sweater below, which is perfect layered with a taut turtleneck and chunky necklace. Pull your hair up in a smooth chignon and throw on this Knit Eternity Scarf for a chic, chilly look. And lastly, when you're tracking through the city snow, pair these Sorel Chipanko Wool Boots with cigarette skinny jeans and knee socks, and you'll be steppin' in style. All of these items and more are available on ShopAddikt — just type in the product names, and we'll find you the best prices.

Local Style Spotlight: Lavenda from Lavendas Closet

This is such an exciting month for everyone... Well surely ALMOST everyone, haha. I guess I'm getting ahead of myself. But January DOES represent new beginnings for so many people! It's an inspiring month for creatives like myself because client work often slows leaving me to my own devices. Winter is like a giant empty canvas for me!

My new Blog and Youtube Channel (eeeek!) are all I can think about these days. It's exciting to see the response from NW designers and my immediate Portland community. I've been able to collaborate with so many people in the creation of my new branding, the site and the launch party that will celebrate the whole she-bang! Soft Launch is schedule for January 15th so please follow me on facebook and tumblr for updates!

I'm itching to get everything launched so that you can share in the excitement with me!
About this OUTFIT though, haha.

I wore this outfit to a wedding last week. It was an intimate event so I felt like a cotton blend dress would fit the occasion. I dressed it up with my heavy gold chain necklace and some simple wrist accessories. You know how much I LOVE these quilted booties by now... My Zara coat hits just above the dress so that the floral design peeks out perfectly below.

Beach Party Ready

1456

Wow, editing these photos made me miss La Union even more. I can still vividly remember the beach and the fun times I had with friends… AAHHH!!! Okay, enough reminiscing. I think this Sesa dress is the best dress you can wear if you’re attending a beach party that doesn’t require swimming or a music festival. The color combination makes it seem like it’s really meant for the beach- it’s just so nice to look at. I love the bohemian vibe of the dress and the cutouts really help so you wouldn’t feel hot most of the time. I matched it with this pair of flats from Bella Schu because I wanted to make the look nicer. I’m seriously getting addicted to sandals now. I find this one so sexy on my feet and the studs are definitely stunning. People usually have a hard time not knowing what pair of sandals (aside from flip flops) to bring on the beach-  and I’m telling you, this one’s perfect! It’s easy to remove and wear again. I still like my feet glammed up when I have beach parties, flip flops are only if you’re swimming. The black and gold details really made it look classy. BMS.

Style Spotlight: Nancy Callen

Meet ShopAddikt's amazing web desginer! As a part of the ShopAddikt team, Nancy brings both creativity to branding SA along with her own passion for wearing everyday fashion! Check our our exclusive interview with one of Portland's hottest web designers!

SA: Why do you love ShopAddikt?
"I love to shop. Period. I'm a HUGE stalker. Exclamation. ShopAddikt was like a match made in heaven. When I say I stalk, that doesn't even begin to describe the extent of how much I love clothes. I'm on every discount, non-discount site constantly searching for say a perfect mint dress and won't stop until it's found. ShopAddikt is the perfect marriage of tons of items to search for at great prices. How could you go wrong?"
SA: How would you describe your style living in such an Urban community?
"I would say high end with a twist. I love to mix and match designers (both high and low end) constantly. I don't like to be a walking label. Just a well put together outfit showing off great clothes and designers. Picture a great chunky vintage necklace with some great loose fitting Helmet Lang top mixed with some Paige waxy skinny jeans completed with some Jimmy Choos. Perfection"
.
SA: What are 3 items you can’t live without?
  1. Vintage Chanel Bag
  2. This great long vintage necklace of my mom's. No idea of the designer.
  3. My Robert Cavalli brown leather jacket. It has all this great hardware that makes it go with just about anything.

Style Spotlight: SA Intern Brittany shares her must-haves and styling tips!

Being a fashion marketing intern defiantly has perks, especially when you're trying to reach an audience through more than just the styling, but about how the clothing makes a person feel. Brittany comes to us with a B.A. in psychology, and a very large passion for clothes!

"It's not just about how someone looks in their clothing. It's an expression of their mood. Many people translate their emotions through their clothing." Brittany guides her own fashion choices through the use of color psychology. "When it's warm out I go for the brighter colors that really set my day off right! Yellows, aqua, even hot coral are all colors that give me a little boost. On days where I'm feeling a bit more sophisticated I like to wear navy. I have all sorts of colorful clothing that can change how I'm feeling."

As a full-time mom, Brittany also has her hands full of sticky messes most of the day. "My tips for any mom who wants to be fashionable? Look for easily washable fabrics, like cotton, but in cute cuts and styles that don't take a ton of effort to style." Brittany shares her experiences with being a stylish mom on her blog Glamour & Giggles. So what are the must-haves for a mom on the go? "Invest in a good pair of jeans that have a cut that will even your body type out. These will be the jeans you can wear to the grocery store or a girl's night out. I also have to have statement necklaces. Since I am casually dressed most of the time, a solid necklace perks up my outfit without any effort. Finally buy plenty of scarves, again another accessory to make your wardrobe cute and manageable with your arms full of babies!"
